About the Journal
|
IJCLJS: International Journal of Criminal Law and Justice Studies is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research at the critical intersection of criminal jurisprudence, criminology, and global justice systems. Positioned as a premier scholarly forum, the journal serves legal scholars, criminologists, judicial officers, forensic experts, and public policymakers worldwide. IJCLJS prioritizes macro-level penal evaluations, rigorous doctrinal and empirical legal research, and innovative justice frameworks that address the complexities of modern crime, human rights, and systemic judicial reform. By bridging classical penal doctrines with contemporary challenges such as transnational crime and digital offenses, the journal fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of how criminal laws are formulated, interpreted, and enforced to promote societal security, equity, and the rule of law.
Scope and Topics
The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, critical legal reviews, and comprehensive case studies that offer significant contributions to the following thematic areas:
Criminal Jurisprudence & Penal Policy: Substantive and procedural criminal law, sentencing guidelines, comparative criminal justice systems, and the evolution of penal philosophies.
Criminology, Penology & Rehabilitation: The sociology of deviance, prison reform, correctional administration, recidivism reduction strategies, and the psychological assessment of criminal behavior.
Restorative Justice & Human Rights: Victimology, alternative dispute resolution (ADR) in criminal matters, the protection of marginalized groups within the justice system, and the human rights of the accused and incarcerated.
Transnational, Corporate & Organized Crime: International criminal law, human trafficking, global terrorism, money laundering, extradition laws, and corporate criminal liability.
Cybercrime, Forensics & Legal Technology: Digital forensics, cyber-terrorism, data theft, the legal implications of artificial intelligence in policing and surveillance, and the modernization of criminal evidence gathering.
Publication Frequency
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and timely dissemination of critical legal-criminal research, IJCLJS is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on urgent global security threats, landmark international criminal tribunal rulings, or paradigm shifts in restorative justice may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.
Peer Review Process
IJCLJS enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, analytical objectivity, and legal validity.
Mission Statement: "The mission of IJCLJS is to deconstruct systemic penal injustices and catalyze equitable, evidence-based criminal justice frameworks within a rapidly evolving global society. Grounded in the philosophy that transparent legal procedures, proportional penal systems, and the strict protection of human rights are the absolute anchors for democratic resilience and societal peace, the journal aims to democratize advanced legal and criminological knowledge by providing an unrestricted, high-impact platform for global scholarly dialogue. Through the promotion of diverse and rigorous methodological approaches—encompassing comparative statutory analysis, archival legal research, and empirical socio-legal studies—IJCLJS seeks to empower legal advocates, inspire judicial reformers, and shape future-proof, equitable criminal justice policies worldwide."
