J-BAHSENI: Journal of Language and Arts is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research at the creative and structural intersection of linguistics, literary studies, visual arts, and performing arts. Positioned as a premier multidisciplinary scholarly forum, the journal serves linguists, literary critics, artists, art historians, and cultural theorists worldwide. J-BAHSENI prioritizes macro-level cultural evaluations, rigorous linguistic analyses, and profound aesthetic explorations that address the complexities of human expression, creativity, and communication. By bridging foundational language theories with contemporary artistic practices, the journal fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of how linguistic structures and artistic mediums collaborate to reflect, critique, and shape human culture and identity across diverse global landscapes.

Scope and Topics
The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, critical literature and art reviews, and practice-based research papers that offer significant contributions to the following thematic areas:

Linguistics & Applied Language Studies: Structural linguistics (phonology, morphology, syntax), pragmatics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, language acquisition, and translation studies.

Literature & Literary Criticism: Comparative literature, contemporary and classical literary analysis (prose, poetry, drama), eco-criticism, post-colonial literature, and the intersection of literature and digital media.

Visual Arts & Design: Fine arts (painting, sculpture, printmaking), visual communication design, digital and media arts, photography, and art history.

Performing Arts & Musicology: Theater and drama studies, choreography and dance theory, ethnomusicology, contemporary musical composition, and performance studies.

Cultural Preservation & Arts/Language Education: Pedagogical innovations in language teaching (TEFL/TESOL), arts education frameworks, indigenous art forms, and the preservation of endangered languages and traditional art practices.

Publication Frequency
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and timely dissemination of cutting-edge humanistic and creative research, J-BAHSENI is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on emergent digital art movements, significant linguistic shifts in global communication, or the preservation of indigenous cultural expressions may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process
J-BAHSENI enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, analytical objectivity, and theoretical validity.

  • Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a relevant Subject Editor to assess thematic alignment, methodological soundness (qualitative, qualitative, practice-based, or mixed-methods), and structural compliance. Plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the journal's maximum threshold.
  • Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent international reviewers who are established academic experts in the specific domain of language, literature, or the arts.
  • Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on the intellectual merit, theoretical rigor, aesthetic value, and practical applicability of the work to cultural advancement.

Mission Statement: "The mission of J-BAHSENI is to deconstruct the complexities of human expression and catalyze inclusive, evidence-based cultural dialogue by exploring the profound synergies between language and the arts. Grounded in the philosophy that linguistic diversity, literary heritage, and creative artistic expression are the absolute anchors for societal empathy, historical memory, and human innovation, the journal aims to democratize advanced knowledge by providing an unrestricted, high-impact platform for global scholarly and creative dialogue. Through the promotion of diverse and rigorous methodological approaches—encompassing qualitative textual analysis, corpus linguistics, ethnographic fieldwork, and practice-led artistic research—J-BAHSENI seeks to empower humanists, inspire creative practitioners, and shape progressive, culturally enriched public discourse worldwide."
