JPIS: Journal of Education, Learning, and Innovation is a peer-reviewed,

open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research at the dynamic intersection of natural sciences, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) frameworks, and educational pedagogy. Positioned as a premier scholarly forum, the journal serves academic researchers, science educators, curriculum developers, and educational policymakers worldwide. JPIS prioritizes macro-level systemic evaluations, rigorous empirical classroom research, and innovative instructional models that address the complexities of teaching and learning physics, chemistry, biology, and earth sciences. By bridging foundational scientific principles with contemporary, tech-driven pedagogical strategies, the journal fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of how to cultivate scientific literacy, critical thinking, and empirical inquiry across diverse educational demographics.

Scope and Topics
The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, critical literature reviews, and empirical action research that offer significant contributions to the following thematic areas:

Science Pedagogy & Instructional Design: Inquiry-based science education (IBSE), problem-based learning (PBL), experiential learning frameworks, and cognitive approaches to teaching complex scientific concepts.

STEM/STEAM Education & Multidisciplinary Learning: The integration of technology and engineering into natural science curricula, cross-disciplinary instructional models, and 21st-century skills development.

Educational Technology in Science: Virtual laboratories, digital simulations, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in science classrooms, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in science education.

Assessment & Scientific Literacy: Development of cognitive and psychomotor assessment tools, evaluation of students' scientific argumentation, and measuring global scientific literacy competencies (e.g., PISA standards).

Curriculum Development & Teacher Education: Continuous professional development for science teachers, evaluation of national science curricula, and educational equity in science learning.

Ethnoscience & Environmental Education: Integrating local wisdom and indigenous knowledge into science education, climate change pedagogy, and education for sustainable development (ESD).

Publication Frequency
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and timely dissemination of cutting-edge educational research, JPIS is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on urgent disruptions in STEM education, rapid shifts in educational technology, or breakthrough scientific pedagogical frameworks may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process
JPIS enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, pedagogical validity, and analytical objectivity.

  • Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a relevant Subject Editor to assess thematic alignment, methodological soundness, and structural compliance. Plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the journal's maximum threshold.
  • Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent international reviewers who are established academic experts or senior practitioners in the specific domain of science education or natural sciences.
  • Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on the intellectual merit, educational rigor, and practical applicability of the work to science classrooms and institutional advancement.

Mission Statement: "The mission of JPIS is to deconstruct pedagogical barriers in science education and catalyze transformative, inquiry-driven learning pathways within a rapidly evolving global society. Grounded in the philosophy that robust scientific literacy, empirical reasoning, and equitable access to quality STEM education are the absolute anchors for technological innovation, environmental sustainability, and human prosperity, the journal aims to democratize advanced educational knowledge by providing an unrestricted, high-impact platform for global scholarly dialogue. Through the promotion of diverse and rigorous methodological approaches—encompassing quantitative educational assessments, qualitative classroom ethnographies, and mixed-methods instructional research—JPIS seeks to empower science educators, inspire curriculum innovators, and shape future-proof, evidence-based science education policies worldwide."
