The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, critical reviews, and conceptual papers that offer significant contributions to the following thematic areas:

Linguistics & Discourse Analysis: Sociolinguistics, pragmatics, critical discourse analysis (CDA), cognitive linguistics, stylistics, and the structural mechanics of human language in diverse communicative contexts.

Literary Theory & Criticism: Comparative literature, post-colonial and diaspora literature, eco-criticism, feminist literary theory, and the evolution of classical and contemporary literary genres (poetry, prose, and drama).

Narrative Studies & Narratology: The structural analysis of narratives, oral traditions and folklore, myth-making, visual and cinematic narratives, transmedia storytelling, and interactive digital narratives.

Translation Studies & Cross-Cultural Communication: The politics and ethics of translation, transcreation, localized cultural adaptations of texts, and linguistic relativity.

Textual Representation & Identity Politics: Memory studies, the intersection of language, gender, and power in literature, and the role of narratives in constructing national, cultural, and marginalized identities.

Publication Frequency
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and timely dissemination of cutting-edge humanistic research, NJLLNS is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on emergent literary movements, specific global linguistic phenomena, or disruptive forms of digital storytelling may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process
NJLLNS enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, analytical objectivity, and theoretical validity.

  • Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a relevant Subject Editor to assess thematic alignment, methodological soundness, and structural compliance. Plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the journal's maximum threshold.
  • Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent international reviewers who are established academic experts in the specific domain of language, literature, or narrative studies.
  • Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on the intellectual merit, theoretical novelty, and analytical rigor of the textual research.
